Fretwork + Grey Ruffles

I found these TWO items as I was reading my blogs today. I too LOVE these ruffle curtains from Urban Outfitters, I think the white one would look good against my gray walls and then pair it with this AMAZING rug! My hubby painted my office a beautiful Grey and I can't wait to add more to the room, these two finds would make it SO cute! ( I can't remember where I found the rug, but the drape was from Caitlin Creer Interiors Blog)

Happy Numero Dos!

Just wanted to say Happy 2 years to our dear friends Pastor Micah and Erika Cruger!

2 Years ago today was a crazy, fun and cold day! But is was a blast celebrating with the two of you! We love you!

XOXOX,
Katie and Joe

A little Halloween decor for ya!

I have not been a big Halloween person really until a few years ago, when my mom started decking our house out! Then last year when I had Joe's house to decorate, even though we weren't married yet -HAHA, I started creating my Halloween box of goodies!
I have been busy so far this year and just seem behind on everything, so the most I have gotten to is one little table centerpiece. This could be all I do, or I could do more! We will just have to wait and see, won't we! Mooo-ha - ha - ha!

P.S. I am going to add some nailheads to my white pumpkins too... If you can't tell from my past two posts and this silver tray... I am kinda obsessed with nailheads! Watch out old pieces of furniture and you pumpkins, I am coming after ya!

Hotel Hanchinamani

Well, finally, here is a little post about my surprise for my hubby! I had this all done for him when he came back from 6 weeks in DC! He LOVED it! I designed the headboard and then bough the side tables, and floor lamp from Pier 1. The awesome vintage 1960s velvet chair is from my Grandma Selma! It needs two new legs, but will do for now! I love the chair so much!
PLEASE keep in mind this is only phase 1 of our master bedroom. Imagine with me, plantation shutteres, crown molding, a chandelier in the center of the ceiling, windowpaned french double doors with sheer fabric, black and white patterened drapes, a mirrored top on top of the black chest of drawers, 2 end stool/bench at the end of the bed, an area rug, some mirrors, some wedding pictures..... see I still have lots to do, but if I can say so myself, this is a good start!!
So, SURPRISE Mr. Hanchinamani! Until the next time you leave town.....

I would like to also note that the cute lamps are from Auntie Margie as part of her wedding present to us, the tree was thanks to Kirsten for selling her staging stuff and the headboard was fabricated by Mara and Frank at www.designsbymara.net

What EVERYONE is talking about!!

Finally, a place in my heart has been filled. Seriously, there has been a rectangle shaped whole in my heart for a while now, where the Domino Magazine used to be. Today, it was filled up again with this: http://www.lonnymag.com/ ! It is 195 virtual pages of Design, Fashion, Decor, Beautiful pictures and more!

I would like to thank the blog world for this discovery. At least 5 of the HUNDREDS of blogs I read, posted about this today. It was like a little present for my imagination. I can't wait to read it more in depth! Thank You Bloggers. Thank You Lonny!

My goodies from Farm Chicks!

So, we just got back from Farm Chicks and it was so fun! It was overwhelming, but a good overwhelming. It was just oozing with cuteness and creativity in the whole place! We had a great girls weekend; we saw a movie and had girl talk! My favorite booth was QUEEN OF TARTE, I kept wandering and I would just end up back under her scalloped trimmed booth! I ran into two people I know, our friend Nora and my cousin-in-law’s mom, Kay. We got to see Erika and her baby too, then we ending the two days with the best little mini burgers at the cutest French restaurant in Spokane, Madeline's. It WAS a great adventure and I am already looking forward to next year!!!

So here is a list of my goodies: A really cute 2009 & 2010 calender for my office, a crown dish towel that I have hung on my oven, some vintage labels to scan in and play with and make labels for gifts, AND then the most appropriate charm I have even gotten it says, "she loves Italy"!!! I about screamed when I saw it because I wanted to find just the perfect one and I did!

Thank you to my friends who made this weekend so fun!

Here we go! Tomorrow at NOON, we will set forth on an adventure! I don't know what I am getting into, but I feel like its gonna be a good thing. I am honestly a little hesitant to go, because I am not much of an "antiquer" or a "junker", but what I am is a thinker! I just know that I will be inspired, I just know that I will probably buy some little thing I don't need. BUT most of all I am just excited to be with my Mom and my friends and be in the sunshine of Spokane. I really am excited, I have no expectations and I can't wait to see what treasures we find and what new ideas we come up with!! Bon Voyage.. except we are going by car :)

San Fran Weekend

We had so much fun this weekend! We hung out with old friends, and made new ones! So many laughs, so many stories, but you had to be there! We did it all, ChinaTown, Ghiradelli Square, The Bay, the bridge, Sausalito, cable cars, fisherman's wharf! It was a fun little weekend gettaway! I love those, I could do those once a month!!

Bird Cages are the new chandeliers....just wait!

This is my prediction this morning, that these wonderful birdcages will become the new chandeliers... I could be wrong, but you never know... I could have had a birdcaged themed wedding! HAHA...
